On April 15, a San José State alumnus and former football player was found safe after being reported missing for nine days.
Hadari Darden was found in Berkeley and is safe with his family, according to an updated April 14 ABC7 article.
Darden, 28, was last seen at Skyline Plaza Shopping Center around 1:15 a.m. on April 6 in Daly City, according to an April 15 article published by The Mercury News.
The Daly City police questioned Darden on April 6 after receiving a suspicious person report. Police determined he was not acting strange and let him go, according to an April 10 article published by San José Today.
After playing football for a season at Contra Costa College, Darden became a student-athlete, redshirting in 2017 before playing at SJSU from 2018 to 2021 and graduating with a bachelor’s in communication studies, according to his San José State Athletics player profile.
Darden was a linebacker for the Spartans and was a part of the team that advanced to the 2020 Mountain West Conference Championship, in which the university won its first championship title in 29 years, according to a Dec. 19, 2020 article published by SJSU Athletics.
The Spartan Daily contacted the Daly City police. Additionally, the Daily contacted Michelle Smith McDonald, senior director of strategic communications for SJSU, but neither responded in time for publication.
