San José State football held its 2026 Pro Day on Wednesday under 90-degree heat at CEFCU Stadium, where 14 Spartans showcased their skills in front of National Football League scouts.
The event began at the Koret Athletic Training Center with player measurements, followed by strength and explosiveness tests, including the bench press, vertical jump and broad jump.
Athletes then moved to the field for timed drills such as the 40-yard dash and 5-10-5 shuttle.
Despite coming off a 3-9 season and missing a bowl game after three consecutive appearances from 2022 to 2024, several seniors used Pro Day to highlight their potential at the next level.
Linebacker Jordan Pollard, who led the Spartans with 108 total tackles last season and tied for the team lead with 2.5 sacks, emphasized the preparation leading up to the event.
“The last few months have been hard, running hills twice a week, benching three times a week, running every day, a tough three months of work,” Pollard said.
Pollard, a four-year player at SJSU and a 2024-25 All-Mountain West First Team selection, ran a 4.77-second 40-yard dash and recorded a 30-inch vertical jump. He is projected as a potential undrafted free agent, according to the NFL Mock Draft Database.
Defensive lineman Gafa Faga also stood out in testing, posting 18 repetitions on the bench press, second only to offensive lineman Peseti Lapuaho, who led all participants with 24 reps.
Faga reflected on his journey to this point.
“When I was a little kid, I wasn’t into football that much, so I never saw myself being here,” Faga said. “In sixth grade, that’s when I really wanted to aim for the NFL.”
Faga played three seasons for the Spartans.
Defensive back Isiah Revis delivered one of the most impressive jumps of the day with a 37.5-inch vertical and recorded a 4.6-second 40-yard dash.
Revis, who spent three seasons at SJSU and had a career-high 72 tackles last year, said he was satisfied with his performance.
“I feel like I did all I could,” Revis said. “I was consistent in my work in the few months leading up to this, and I’m satisfied with where I’m at right now. I’ve just got to wait and see what the next steps are and keep staying consistent.”
Linebacker Taniela Latu, another three-year contributor, posted a 35.5-inch vertical jump and improved upon his 40-yard dash time, from 4.7 seconds in his first attempt to 4.65 in his second.
He tied linebacker David Tuihalangingie for the second-fastest time in the opening round.
Latu described the emotions of performing in front of NFL scouts.
“It really makes it real, getting ready to go to that professional level,” Latu said. “Last night I went to sleep confident, not nervous at all. But when I woke up this morning, I started getting the jitters. It’s nerve-racking, but it’s a blessing to be this far, and hopefully I can take it even farther.”
With Pro Day complete, the Spartans now turn their attention to the 2026 NFL Draft, which will take place April 23 to 25 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
