Typically people only eat cake on birthdays because it’s not exactly a perfect image of health, but this can be countered if you simply make a healthy cake.
By making something healthy, you could easily eat cake every single day with no regrets.
This healthy cake recipe is for a chocolate lava cake using protein powder. This recipe is from the YouTube channel NoahPerloFit.
Ingredients
- One scoop of chocolate protein powder
- Two tablespoons of cocoa powder
- Two tablespoons of sugar-free pudding mix
- One teaspoon of baking powder
- One quarter cup of stevia or a sweetener of your choice
- One third cup of almond milk or milk of your choice
First, grab a baking dish or bowl to cook in the air fryer or oven.
If you don’t have either of these or just don’t want to wait long like me, the microwave will work fine as well.
Start by putting in one scoop of chocolate protein powder. You can use any flavor of your choice, however this recipe is meant to be a chocolate lava cake, so you may have to alter certain ingredients.
If your protein powder uses a small amount in each scoop, you may need to put in more because it will affect how much of each ingredient you will use in order to get the right texture.
After adding the protein powder, add cocoa powder to add more flavoring.
If you aren’t using chocolate flavored protein powder you won’t need to add this, although you may need to add more pudding mix or protein powder to your dish or bowl.
Next, add in sugar-free chocolate pudding mix. If you are using a flavor other than chocolate protein powder, pick one that corresponds to your protein powder.
The pudding mix doesn’t have to be sugar free, however it will lower the calorie content of your cake if you want it to be as low-calorie as possible.
Next, add one quarter cup of stevia or a sweetener of your choice. Although you can use any sweetener, stevia is great because it has zero calories.
It’s important to mix dry ingredients together before adding liquids and mix them evenly.
After mixing thoroughly, add milk. You can use any kind of milk, but it will be lower calorie if you use almond milk.
I recommend gradually adding milk instead of pouring it all at once. Mix your ingredients together until it appears like one.
The texture should be smooth like a brownie mix when all the ingredients have been mixed together.
Keep adding milk until it gets to this texture and then you can prepare to cook it.
Finally, bake or air fry the cake for four to eight minutes using less time if you like it more gooey and more time if you like it more cakey.
If you are using a microwave you will want to microwave the dish for 45 seconds, though this can vary depending on the desired texture.
Add some chocolate chips or some fruit or whipped cream as a topping or add right before cooking the lava cake mix to give extra flavor.
Because this recipe is so easy, it leaves a lot of room to experiment with what you like, so don’t be afraid to try it.
