After four men were stabbed, one man is dead, one man is still in the hospital with life-threatening injuries, and two others were reported as having non-life-threatening injuries after officers received an emergency call about a fight at a 7-Eleven parking lot near San Jose State Wednesday morning.
Officers initially responded to a call about a fight but arrived on the scene to find two adult male victims suffering from at least one stab wound each at 404 South Sixth St. around 12:47 a.m., said Gina Tepoorten, a San Jose Police Department public information officer, in an email with the Spartan Daily.
At the scene, officers received information that there were two additional victims who transported themselves to a nearby hospital after also sustaining at least one stab wound each.
“These two victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries,” Tepoorten reported in the email.
The two victims that remained on the scene when officers arrived were transported to a local hospital where one of the victims was pronounced dead a short time later.
The other victim remains in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Tepoorten said no suspects have been identified at this time.
The identity of the deceased victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office after they confirm the victim’s identity and notify the victim’s family.
